In all the chaos, through all the rain, a parcel arrived on my doorstep to brighten our day...my new "Groovy Gripper". The groovy gripper is one of those products that has you thinking "Why has it taken so long for someone to think of this!!!"
So what is it?
The groovy gripper is a specially designed handle that grips onto a rusk or fruit stick.
On the end of the handle is a tether strap and clip that you can use to attach it your child's shirt, pram or highchair! Say goodbye to the number of rusks that end up on the floor while you are out and about....It would be impossible for me to count the number of rusks we have watched fall onto the shopping centre floor!!! Not only is it a waste of money but it almost always results in tears especially when it is the last rusk you have!!!!
but wait theres more!!!
It also comes with a fork and spoon attachment for those little independent eaters!
and
naturally it was invented by a pair of Aussie Mums!!!!
The Groovy Gripper is BPA free, recyclable and dishwasher safe.
Little Miss A has already used it!
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA!!!

The amount of times I have had to pick up rusks and fruit chunks walking around a store - I had given up taking them out with us.
Then, this arrived by courier to my doorstep. As I took it out of the box and marvelled at the genius behind such a product, I couldnt wait to get out and try it.
I even went to the grocery store (instead of buying them online) only so I could go out and show it off. (I spend less when I shop online, and trying to time it around Riley's feeds and naps was getting a bit rough)
Popped a rusk in, clipped it to the bottom of his shirt and started to push him round the store in the trolley. He dropped it once, but it did not land on the floor! He even managed to pull it up by the strap and get it himself (clever boy!). To say I was happy is an understatement.
He ate the entire rusk and did not make a noise the entire trip (he likes to squeal and show his excitement that he is at the supermarket.... and he is a grabby boy - if its within reach, its on the floor).
Even started talking to a lovely lady in the store about it and we exchanged numbers for a coffee.
Have not used the spoon or fork attachments yet as we do baby-led-weaning. But as soon as he has more hand-spoon-mouth control, we will be using it for him to have his yoghurt.
Easily rinsed/washed under the tap and there is no chance of the rusk going anywhere!
There is only one thing I am 'not a fan of' (for lack of a better term) and that is that Riley ate the whole rusk.... then I couldn't get the stub out! Had to use a knife to break it up to get it out... but honestly... the pros outweigh the con 10 fold. 100 fold. the con just doesn't matter.
Highly highly highly recommended. 9.8/10!

Giveaway – Groovy Gripper with Accessory Set
My son likes to throw things, like all children he absolutely delights in the ‘get mummy to pick it up’ game. Food and snacks are apparently particularly enjoyable to throw; rusks used to be my saviour during a shopping trip or a long walk but they very soon became a nightmare once he realised he could drop them (I’m sure that’s the reason rusks are sold wrapped up in twos).
All too quickly dropping evolved to throwing and I found myself spending far too much time bending to pick up the latest dribble-covered missile. I was resigned to dealing with wet and dirty rusks until a playgroup friend rescued me by telling me about the Groovy Gripper.
Designed by two Aussie mums who were fed up of spending a small fortune on food that ended up being half eaten before hitting the floor, the Groovy Gripper grips onto rusks, fruit sticks and other snacks and can be attached to your child’s wrist or clothing so if the child drops or throws their snack it doesn’t fall to the floor.
The Groovy Gripper Accessory Set includes a fork and spoon attachment for older children and now that my son is older and starting to feed himself we are using the spoon attachment to stop him from throwing his food covered spoon to the floor.
BPA Free and dishwasher safe, the Groovy Gripper is a real sanity saver and an absolute must for mums with active children.

From: Groovy Gripper
The Groovy Gripper was inspired by 2 sisters who are both mums to 3 small children. They were tired of wasting money throwing out dirty or broken Rusks and other types of finger foods. After not finding a product that could alleviate this, they developed one themselves. With input from a large pool of other mums the ‘Groovy Gripper’ was born. The Groovy Gripper enables a child to independently eat a rusk or fruit stick while keeping it clean and intact. No more mess, no more worries! Made from high quality BPA free plastic that is safe and easy to use, dishwasher safe and recyclable. The ‘Groovy Gripper’ is a product 100% owned and developed by the Australian company, Designer Bub Pty Ltd.

Groovy Gripper saves snacks from free falling
Posted by Lexi Klaebe on August 19, 2010

My babies all loved chewing on rusks but to me, the only thing worse than a slippery warm mushy rusk was a cold, soggy one covered in carpet fur.
Thank goodness for the Groovy Gripper, the brainchild of two smart-thinking Australian mums. There’s no more accidental dropping of half eaten rusks with this handy device and no more throwing out half eaten food! The Groovy Gripper securely grips on to rusks and fruits sticks, leaving them to be devoured safely and free from hitting the floor. The Groovy Gripper attaches to your child’s wrist so there’s no losing it out the side of a pram or anything like that. It stays right there within their reach!
For older children a separate fork and spoon attachment is available for fitting to the Groovy Gripper – great for snacks when out and about. Both items are made from high quality plastic and are safe for your dishwasher
